Abstract
The objective of this study was to investigate physiological effects of the cupping venesection treatments on the mohyeol and baesuhyeol to the six patients. In the laboratory tests including blood test (CBC), blood-sugar test, and biochemistry test on 6 subjects before and after the cupping venesection treatment, the subjects with hyperglycemia showed a sign of improvement but not full recovery and the bloodsugar of normal subjects were from 90 mm Hg to 79 mm Hg which showing stable improvements. Total bilirubin and ¥ã-GTP values increased in 4 subjects and then recovered into normal level. Numbers of white and red blood cells, and platelets were not affected by the cupping. The lab values of hemoglobin, RDW, MONO and MCHC increased and then recovered into the normal ranges. The lab values of hematocrit were recovered to normal ranges after the treatment. When looking at the test results of pulse wave stress, all 6 subjects showed 30~40% of effects in the pulse diversity, adrenergic activation, and pulse standard deviation in comparisons of before and after the treatments with total 21.67% of improvements in 6 tests. In conclusion, blood tests of the six subjects showed improvements of the blood-sugar, Total bilirubin, ¥ã-GTP, CBC, white blood cells, hemoglobin and platelet with treatments, and also, pulse wave stress was improved with total 21.67% in 6 tests.
